American Psycho: It doesn't get better, it just kind of drags on like that. I guess there is sort of a twist eventually but still. It's main artistic virtue is in its horrifically grotesque portrayal of the mind of a rich-ass business guy bored to tears by his own wealth and success, and the kill-yourself-now depictions of the whole culture he resides in--which is undoubtedly hyperbolic when compared to real life, but it still gets some vague points across I think.
Interesting to me is that the author apparently doesn't remember writing some of the most terrible and graphic parts of the novel. Which is both kind of redeeming and kind of creepily psychotic.
