... my external hard drive crashed last night. (i dropped it, ever so slightly) :(

quite a bit of music, writing and art on that thing that will now never see the light of day.

Are you sure it's the hard drive itself? Cryztal was able to salvage hers by removing the hard drive from the external casing and installing it as an internal. Obviously if you're using a laptop, that won't work, but there might be a way to rig up another connection.
